Online Harp Lessons

Online Harp Lessons Available Via Zoom, Skype, or FaceTime

I live in Colorado, but thanks to online harp lessons, and the marvelous, free technology provided by Zoom (or Skype, or FaceTime), I have students throughout the United States and Canada, as well as the UK and Australia. Students in rural areas who don’t have access to a live teacher can now learn to play the harp much more easily, free of the trials and missteps common for those who try to learn without the help of an effective teacher!

What Do I Need to Begin?
~ A harp
~ The Zoom (preferred) or Skype software, available free at Zoom or Skype.com
~ A high-speed internet connection (either cable or DSL; dial-up is too slow)
~A webcam with a microphone (or a webcam plua a headset with microphone, unless your computer has a microphone built in)

Here’s how it works. If you don’t already have one, buy a basic webcam made for online calling, readily available inexpensively at places like Target. (If you’re a Mac user, you may already have a built-in camera; if not, let me know and I’ll tell you where to find one). Microphone headphones are helpful but optional, as long your built-in microphone works relatively well.

After you have installed Zoom (or Skype), and we exchange user information, I will use the internet to “call” you at your lesson time. During your online harp lesson, we will be able to see and hear each other with remarkable clarity. It’s very similar to having a harp lesson in person.

And guess what? You’ll now be able to use the technology to see and talk to people all over the world for free, as long as they also have the hardware. If you have children or grandchildren elsewhere, you can imagine how cool that is . . .

Want to experience a lesson? Please contact me with your location and time zone. I’ll give you all the details and let you know what lesson times are available, and then work with you to schedule your lesson.

After your first lesson, you’ll have an opportunity to decide whether you would like to continue to take lessons, just as my in-person students do.

I am here to help you. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.  For tips on how to get the most from online harp lessons, please see this page.
